Intro to Agility:
This class introduces you and your dog to agility! Learn how to teach your dog how to do equipment like weave poles, jumps, teeter totter, a-frame, tunnel and pause table. We like to do agility more for fun than competition, but you will still learn the how to's and have a blast while doing it! This is a lower impact agility class and we use half size equipment. Class size limited to 6 dogs. $190 for 6 week Tuesday evenings: 6:30 - 7:20 pm Nov 14 - Dec 19 w/ Jenny (4 spots open) Agility Level 2:
Now that you and your dog have learned the equipment, Agility Level one is the next step! Refine obstacle techniques, learn how to transition between obstacles and gain experience in running the course as a whole. Speed your times and increase your ability to guide your dog from a distance and off lead through the course. Class limited to 6 dogs and recommended for dogs who have completed a basic agility class or already have minor experience with agility. Taught by Jenny. $190 for 6 weeks Fit Dog Class Level 1
Fit dog class is designed for owners to engage in enriched activities with their dog in a fun and safe manner. You will have fun and form a bond with your dog while doing various training exercises to improve your dog’s balance, flexibility, stamina and confidence. Refine current skills and commands and teach new ones that include the cookie stretch, tuck sit, nose touch, kick back stand and fold back down in addition to walking. You do not need to be athletes to take the class but it is great for people who are active with their dogs or want to be active with their dogs. Fit dog class is not for dogs who need rehabilitation; it is for healthy dogs with no significant prior injuries or conditions, You will also be eligible for AKC Fit Dog Titles as this class is taught by Debbie who is a certified Fit Dog Instructor! $190 for six weeks. Dog Parkour is similar to the human version where the participants leap and climb over and around everyday objects but without the extreme and dangerous stunts. Dogs and handlers will be taught to complete tricks, behaviors and commands around obstacles that include balancing, jumping and crawling. Parkour, sometimes called Urban Agility, is a fun way to add excitement to every day walks, enrich your dog’s experiences and refine their attention and focus while building your bond with your dog. Class limited to 6 dogs and classes will alternate between the facility local parks. Participants will be notified of location ahead of time. Do you want to have that dog that is the life of the party? Let’s teach that pup some tricks! Learn three different training methods to teach your dog tricks like commando crawl, jump, spin, paws up, kiss, find it…you get the idea! Rally is a dog sport consisting of different obedience based stations that make up a course that you and your dog navigate together. Handlers and dogs learn the stations and then complete the course - there are different configurations and stations each week! This class will help refine your dog's obedience while having a blast! Class size limited to 6 dogs. Beginner through Intermediate levels welcomed. Dogs will be introduced to the scent odors used in nose work through pairing with food and will continue to build confidence through problem solving skills. Handlers will work on handling their dog on and off leash, while identifying a reliable alert cue from the dog. Classes will primarily be held in the training center, but may take place outside the training center as well (on leash). Students with no nosework experience are welcomed. Remember that fun of field day as a kid? Now you can do it with your dog! Turn your training practice into a game- literally! This 6 week class gives you the opportunity to refine your dog's obedience, work on advanced skills and have fun while doing both. We’ll also compete in games such as Musical Chairs, H-O-U-N-D and Simon Says. You and your dog will practice and reinforce skills including off leash obedience, giving commands from a distance, achieving rapid responses to commands and learning new tricks and behaviors. Participating dogs must be people and dog-friendly and have basic obedience skills. Class size limited to 6 students. Taught by Debbie. $190 for 6 weeks Animal Acting:
Learn the skills your dog will need to be an animal actor! Animal actors star in commercials and movies, model for still photos, and even act in theater! This class explores what it takes to be on set for hours, common commands used in acting, tricks and socialization skills to work with people and kids. When your dog is ready, we can even connect you with the animal talent agent that Jenny and Nicole work with! Limited to 6 dogs and taught by Jenny. $175 for 5 weeks Intro to Treibball:
Treibball, pronounced tribe-ball originated in Germany and translates to "push ball." This is a game where your dog learns to push an exercise ball with their nose or shoulder towards their handler and into a goal. Think of it as a cross between billiards and soccer! This 6 week class teaches you how to train your dog in the skill of pushing a ball then playing games and having some friendly competition with classmates! Limited to 4 dogs. Class requirement: you must bring your own exercise ball; I can help you choose one if you are not sure what size to get. This is the exact same class as Intro to Agility, but for reactive dogs so the class size is smaller. Learn how to teach your dog how to do equipment like weave poles, jumps, teeter totter, a-frame, tunnel and pause table. This is a lower impact agility class and we use half size equipment. Please note that we do not work on reactivity in the class, we only work on agility. For reactive training, please see Reactive Rover below. Class size limited to 4 dogs.
